Description
Using a combination of pure Art Clay Silver and sterling, this piece has been created in honor of antique Victorian hunting trophies brought back to Europe from India by rich noblemen and royalty. While away on their hunting excursions in the jungles, many men left wives and children at home. Oftentimes, as a way of 'making it up to them', hunters would commission jewelry pieces to be made from the claws or teeth of their prized kills, which they would then send home as gifts for their families.
But unlike those trophy claws, this one came from a de-clawed captive-bred lion in the United States. It does not have a bone core, but despite this, it is sturdy and robust, and looks very impressive when worn.
There are a few minor scratches to this claw, but they're hardly noticeable to the untrained eye.
Claw measures A WHOPPING 3.2" long around the outside curve, making this one of the largest lion claws I've ever seen or worked with. I'm not joking when I say that this is simply MASSIVE, so it's really not meant to be worn by the faint-of-heart.
