TOO MANY RABBITS

My butcher friend called today to tell me that he had 50+ more rabbit hides to give me, plus a couple of goat skins. My freezer is already full, so I wasn’t really in a position to accept the rabbits, but drove out to his place to pick up the goats. 

When I got there, the bag of rabbit hides was still sitting beside the shed. I paid for the goats (and more food for the dogs), and was about to take off, but something stopped me. I asked my buddy, “No one’s taking those hides off your hands?”

"Well," he said, "someone was supposed to come get them shortly after I called you, but she hasn’t shown up yet. I’m about to close up shop and was just gonna throw ‘em away." 

I knew I didn’t have the room for them, but I figured I may as well just take them. The thought of all those pretty hides rotting in a garbage bin full of guts and blood water kind of made me feel sad. 

So I moved Jude to the front seat of the truck and hauled the giant bag of rabbit hides onto the tailgate, then rolled them into the truck bed with the two goats and 18 pounds of meat for the dogs. 

Now I have a 30-something pound garbage bag full of 50+ dead rabbits, just like these ones.

If anyone is interested in these, PLEASE contact me and let me know. I’m selling them now for $3.00 a piece with a minimum order of 5. Shipping is $12.50 if you buy less than 10, and $25.00 if you buy more than 10. I don’t want to see these bunnies go to waste! Even if you don’t tan hides, the skulls are still attached, and are in excellent condition. I can cut the heads off and send those separate from the pelts to save on shipping.
